This Ride Out has never been done by the Amstel Chapter, so we think it is possible! Sun 25th August The Texel round trip.
Itinerary: The route to Den Helder starts from the McDonalds IJdoornlaan (Amsterdam-Noord). Via the North We drive through Dutch polders to the ferry in Den Helder. On the boat we have the opportunity to have something to drink and eat. From the Het Horntje mooring we drive along the east coast the lighthouse of Texel. Here we take a break for a photo opportunity. We continue our route towards De Koog. There we stop at the Beach Club for a delicious BBQ lunch beach. www.beachclubtexel.nl Below is a brief description of the delicacies:
- Chicken thigh with sate sauce, prawn crackers and atjar
- Beef burger with bun, tomato, pickle, iceberg lettuce and sauce Sukade stewed in Texel beer
- Salmon with crispy garden herb crust
- Pasta salad Potato salad
- Green salad with feta Baguette with herb butter and tomato tapenade
- Fried roseval potatoes
- fries
If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know in a timely manner. After taking some time off we drive further via the Texel Dunes National Park towards the ferry. On the mainland we take the fastest route via the N9 and the A9 towards Amsterdam.
Planned timetable:
- 08:30 – 09:00: Meet at McDonalds Zaanstad MC, Julianaweg 45 Zaandam.
- 09:00: Departure
- 10:45 am: ferry arrival in Den Helder 11 a.m.: Departure – coffee etc.
- 11:30 am: start of route on Texel
- 1:30 PM: Lunch and relaxation
- Around 3:30 PM Ferry back
- Back in Amsterdam around 5:30 PM
